*** From the book/app Introduction ***
The idea of using disease patterns and symptoms as opportunities for growth on the path of development dates from time immemorial, and its essence can be found in the holy scriptures of many religions. In modern times, due to the decline of religion and the triumphal progress of natural scientific medicine, it has been pushed into the background and largely forgotten, although admittedly it has experienced a revival since the first publication in 1983 of Krankheit als Weg (which was later translated into English with the title *The Healing Power of Illness). In the meantime, this approach – which has since been continually broadened and more widely developed – has even begun making the breakthrough into traditionally-accepted medical practice, and since 2005, I have been holding further training courses for a German medical association. Amongst naturopathic and psychologically-orientated therapists, the approach had long ago secured its rightful place. For the most part, however, the popularity of this old, rediscovered art of the interpretation of disease patterns has not come about through professional therapists, as originally hoped, but through the people affected. Patients have brought the method to their therapists, the majority of whom were originally unwilling to follow such a simple and plausible path. This despite the fact that there had long been indications about the importance of the meaning and interpretation of diseases, such as when Viktor Frankl emphasised: “The ‘desire for meaning’ is inherent to life. If the meaning can be successfully interpreted, the disease will be more easily overcome.”
At the physical level, anyone can indicate, at least by pointing (hence the term index finger), to where the problem lies - to where the shoe is pinching or where the pain is causing suffering. In an extended, figurative sense, too, it is only a matter of putting one’s finger on the (symbolic) wound, and asking the right question – the question that even as far back as the legend of Parsifal and the Holy Grail could have relieved the wounded Grail King Amfortas of his suffering. This healing question concerns the shadow which is embodied in every wound and every disease pattern – this “Dear Uncle, what is troubling you?” – a question Parsifal initially fails to ask because ignorance of his own pain and woundedness renders him incapable of empathy. The body is the stage for unconscious spiritual experience, or as expressed in negative terms by the author Peter Altenberg: “Disease is the outcry of an offended soul.” Accordingly, it is necessary to find out what has offended the soul, and the body indicates its needs for this process.

Excellent information
Great info and easy to navigate. Could use more descriptive language or expansive wording in some areas. An explanation of the planets would be helpful for reference too.
Thought provoking
